The largest megalodon tooth ever found and recorded was considered for a long time to be a huge tooth from Peru. It had a very unusual shape. The measurement from root to tip was 7&1/8th inches.
IN SEARCHING THE WEB I HAVE FOUND A SITE WHICH HAD AN EVEN BIGGER ONE. THIS TOOTH WAS FOR SALE ( IT SINCE HAS BEEN SOLD). IT WAS FOUND IN THE COOPER RIVER IN THE 1980'S AND WAS LISTED FOR

THE ACTUAL TOOTH WAS LISTED IN 2007 ON A SITE CALLED "MEG MAWL" WHICH NO LONGER EXISTS. I SAVED THE SITE AND PICTURES FOR CONFIRMATION BUT THE PICTURES NO LONGER MEET EBAY GUIDELINES SO I HAVE TO REMOVE THEM. I HOPE TO GET A PICTURE OF THE ORIGINAL UP SOON AGAIN.

IT WEIGHS ABOUT 1&1/2 POUNDS! I crafted this tooth after studying the picture of the cooper river tooth. Although not an exact replica since I don't have the tooth, it is a very close representation. It is unusual because of the curve and the "fanged" turn at the tip. The root is complete and is SOMEWHAT symetrical. The serrations are fine almost all the way to the tip.
