Child killed in 2-vehicle crash at N.J. intersection

A child died following a two-vehicle collision last week at a Gloucester County intersection.
A Bridgeton woman was driving eastbound on Harrisonville Road in South Harrison Township shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 when she failed to yield to right of way to another vehicle at the intersection with Route 45, according to Woolwich Township Police.
Her vehicle entered the lane of travel of a car traveling southbound on Route 45 and the other car hit the driver’s side rear passenger door of the Bridgeton woman’s car, police said Tuesday.
She had two children strapped in car seats in the rear of her vehicle, police noted, and one of those children died of injuries from the crash.
The Bridgeton motorist and her other juvenile passenger were injured, as was the Salem woman driving the other vehicle and her lone adult passenger, police said.
The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been announced.
